Spring Updates
With summer upon us, we’re excited to share a number of updates we’re making in our ongoing effort to give you, our community, the best possible experience. When you share your feedback, we listen, and we make changes whenever possible.
This hasn’t been an easy time to be a local grocery business. We’re operating alongside very large national and multinational corporations. Some of those companies tout their support of local and sustainable agriculture, but realistically, their scale and distribution means they cannot support the small-scale farmers and producers that Good Eggs is committed to keeping afloat in an increasingly corporate grocery space.
Your support truly matters, at an individual level. When you purchase from Good Eggs, your money directly supports the hundreds of local farmers and producers who are modeling the kind of production methods we need in order to have a sustainable, healthful future.
So what’s new around here? Here are three major highlights for the season ahead:
Good Eggs Summer Sale
This summer, you’ll find sales across the market on thousands of items, from grocery staples to specialty brands. We are looking forward to offering unusually low prices during a season when we’re all looking for ways to relax, ease the pressure of daily life, and find simple pleasures where we can. Subscribe to our newsletter from your accounts page and follow us on Instagram to get announcements about new markdowns and department sales.
New in the Market
Our buyers have been busy bringing in hundreds of truly exceptional new items. In addition to favorite California brands like Straus Family Creamery, Full Belly Farm, Boichik Bagels, and Slanted Door, we love to help you discover new favorites and show you ways to support up-and-coming farmers and producers. We’re currently super excited about some of the zero-ABV drink producers we’ve brought in, like Ghia, Non, and Three Spirit, as well as some new local makers, including Square Pie Guys and Mamahuhu. Come check out what’s new!
Subscribe and Save
Your to-do list is long. Take grocery shopping off the weekly chore chart. Our new subscription service helps you lock in weeknight dinners, grocery staples, and household favorites on a recurring weekly delivery schedule, so you can set it and forget it.
Checkout, simplified.
Fees in the digital service space are confusing. We all experience this in our own lives, and we’ve heard feedback from our community about confusing fees at Good Eggs and other services. We’ve listened to you, and we’re making some changes to simplify the experience.
First of all, we will make our combined delivery and service fee a consistent, flat fee of $15.99, rather than one that varies according to your basket size. This combined fee is lower than our previous separate delivery and service fees. The fee allows us to ensure that we support our delivery partner drivers, and that we provide our warehouse team with above-market wages, benefits, and career development. This was done with careful examination of the cost of picking, packing, and delivering each order.
Secondly, we now offer the option to tip our drivers. We’re proud that all Good Eggs employees are paid above minimum wage and entitled to benefits. In the past year, in order to maintain that commitment across our operation, we made the decision to contract with courier partners for delivery. We have now added a tipping option at checkout that gives you the optional opportunity to thank our delivery partners.
Membership
For regular Good Eggs customers, an annual membership is a great way to save money on every order. The annual membership fee is $299/year, which means if you order more than three times per month, you’re saving money on every order compared to non-members. In addition, membership entitles you to a list of great perks, including early access to select items and holiday preorders; a 25% discount on one order per quarter, regardless of basket size; and priority customer service.
