Hope is in the Water

We need many thriving movements to create a more sustainable food system, but one that’s rising in importance right now is the Blue Food Movement.

Blue foods include aquatic animals, plants, and algae—sources of nutrition that could be a big part of feeding the planet’s future population. When responsibly caught and harvested, blue food can support the health of people, the environment, economies. Also: it’s delicious!

On June 8, World Ocean Day celebrated the many current opportunities to catalyze collective action for a healthy ocean and stable climate. That momentum continues later this month, when Fed By Blue premieres their new PBS docuseries, Hope is in the Water—featuring stories of amazing innovators, water farmers, and fishers who are working toward a sustainable future for the planet.
